Kambo aftercare doesn’t end when the session is over. What happens in the hours and days that follow plays a major role in how the experience settles and continues to unfold.
The body has just gone through an intense physiological process, and it’s common to feel a mix of physical sensitivity, clarity, fatigue, or emotional movement afterward. This is a time to slow down, listen closely, and support your system as it recalibrates.

Hydration and Nutrition After Kambo
Hydration is one of the most important parts of recovery. Between purging and sweating, the body can lose a significant amount of fluid.
Focus on:
drinking water consistently throughout the day
adding electrolytes (coconut water or a simple electrolyte mix works well)
avoiding alcohol or stimulants while your system is still settling
Food should be simple and easy to digest.Warm, nourishing meals tend to feel best — things like broth, soups, lightly cooked vegetables, or rice. There’s no need to rush back into heavy or processed foods.
Rest and Recovery After a Kambo Session
It’s common to feel tired after a session, even if there’s also a sense of clarity.
Give yourself permission to rest.
That might look like:
taking the day slowly
getting extra sleep
spending time in a quiet, low-stimulation environment
Gentle movement can be supportive, but this isn’t the time to push your body.
Paying Attention to Subtle Shifts
One of the more important parts of aftercare is simply paying attention.
Sometimes the effects of a session aren’t immediate or dramatic. They can show up more quietly — in your energy, your mood, your patterns, or your awareness of certain things.
You might notice:
emotional responses coming up later
a shift in clarity or perspective
subtle changes in how you feel physically
Nothing needs to be forced or analyzed. Just noticing is enough.
Emotional Integration After Kambo
Kambo can bring things to the surface — not always during the session itself, but in the days that follow.
If something comes up, give it space.
That might mean:
writing things down
talking it through with someone you trust
simply allowing the feeling without trying to fix or resolve it immediately
Integration isn’t about doing it perfectly. It’s about staying present with what’s unfolding.
Letting the Process Continue
There can be a tendency to want to “get back to normal” quickly, but this window right after a session is part of the work.
Supporting your body, staying aware, and allowing space for integration often has more impact than the session itself.
Each person’s experience is different, and there’s no single way this should look. Listening to your body and responding to what you need is what matters most.
A Final Note
Kambo works on multiple levels, and not all of them are immediate or obvious.
Giving yourself time, space, and basic care afterward allows the experience to land in a more grounded and sustainable way.
